Our prayers got really quite good a while back, and when I say good, I mean we were all putting a lot of thought into what we were saying. Lately we've gone downhill to the point where one of Faith's prayers last week was 'please help us do that what is good, please help us keep the commandments' x 4. She actually said the same 2 sentences 4 times....one after the other. And she had no idea! We had a good laugh afterwards when I told her but at that point I thought it was about time we talked about the parts of a prayer (again!)
I showed these pictures to see if they could figure out the topic of the lesson. Then asked questions like 'Who do we pray to?'
'Why do we say prayers every day?'
'Why are there different kinds of prayers?'
We talked about how we start with
'Dear Heavenly Father' (or something like that as Mac pointed out, not always those exact words)
Then we thank him for our blessings
Then we ask for things we need/want
Then we finish up with 'in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen'
Our activity was to think of things to go in each column on the sheet below so that we could think back to it before we do prayers over the coming nights. Hence the 'more ponderful prayers'
We did a kid swap with the Leone's last night so we had the pleasure of having Mac while Ella stayed with Pence. Lucky us! And we invited over a Mum and Son from our ward as well (and their big dog Boopy Doo came too!)
Mac wouldn't let us help him cause he had it all under control |
Haha, what the heck did Mac's one even say??!!! You need the urim & thummim & translate that language lol....yep, he gets his spelling from his dad alright ;) Was the dog truly called Boopy Doo lol. Looks like it was a fun night x
