Faith's baptism and birthday

I've just got to start this post by saying 'I can't believe this happened last weekend!!!!'. My daughter turned 8, got her ears pierced, got baptised and had the most wonderful couple of days with family and friends. So I'll just put in a few captions through this and write 8 things about this special girl at the end.

Heading through Northwest with bestie (Stella) and sissy on the way to the pharmacy for the eagerly anticipated ear piercing ceremony

Pretty quiet in the few minutes beforehand. I've never seen this look in her face....she was nervous and so excited at the same time!

Pretty cool to have 2 aunties and cuzzies able come along for the momentous occasion

Then a crazy walk through the mall. Sorry to the shop assistants at Farmers who had to deal with our 7 kids running through the store

Burger Fuel.....birthday girl's choice...good choice baby doll

Bye baby Julie. So good to have her here for a week. Priceless boggles on tap with this gal

A new dress, few clothes from Kmart, a guitar and skateboard. Happy as Larry right here and so thankful for her pressies

Going up to Stella's Nana's house on Sunday morning to get her nails done before her baptism

Talking on the phone to Grandma Yvonne

We had such a lovely day as you can see from the pics and the beaming smiles all round. There were so many people who were able to make it and Faith sure did feel like a princess. Everything went just as we would have hoped and by the time we made it home and put the house back together I just felt so happy. She sure is loved and it was super duper special to get together to celebrate her and support her. Absolutely a proud mummy moment.

So here's 8 things I love about this girl

1. her integrity. This girl will do and say and choose the right all the time...no matter if she's being watched or not.

2. She's easy going. There's not many 'high maintenance' moments with her thank goodness. She'll wear whatever, eat whatever, do whatever.

3. She's full of Faith. Her faith in the teachings of the gospel (as I said in my talk) are evidenced in her character every day.

4. She's developing into a mature and sensible 'boss' when Mum and Dad are busy. There's still room for improvement here but it's so cool for me to be able to say to her 'Faith, you're in charge' (just if I'm doing something like leaving them inside while I'm hanging out the washing).

5. Faith has a funny sense of humor. She writes stories and draws pictures and does dances that are just funny. Sometimes I'm not sure if she's trying to be funny or not, but she is!

6. I think her dress sense needs a special mention...cause it's definitely pretty notable. She goes for comfy, quick, no drama clothes. She doesn't care too much what she looks like, but in saying that, she is proud of what she chooses sometimes. And she always rocks her outfits (funny or not) with confidence.

7. She's thoughtful. She'll write cards, ask to buy gifts for people, give her money to people

8. This girl backs down and does what she's told even if she's not happy about it. She's very tolerant of her siblings even when they're being little monkeys by taking her things or shouting in her ear while she's watching a movie (which she's still very good at by the way). If I ask her to give someone a break, she'll sometimes reluctantly, keep the peace.

I love you with all my heart Faithy K. I honestly don't know what I did to deserve you my precious baby girl. And yes, even though you're getting tall now, you'll always be my baby!!!
You're such an inspiration and joy and blessing in my life
Love you no number baby doll.....Mumma xxx
