Trip to Crystal Mountain

After Faith's afternoons at kindy this week she's been getting really tired. On her second day I let her watch Ice Age 2 knowing that she would fall asleep. Sure enough after about 10 minutes she snuggled in next to me on the couch so I made a little bed for her and went to the kitchen to bake some choc chippies. I had assumed that Ella would pull on my apron strings the whole time, but she actually entertained herself for the whole time with her 'baby'.

She toddled off to her room and found her pony baby and then perched herself on the chair next to me to wrap it and give it cuddles.
Ella went to get a nappy for bubba and struggled around with it before yelling out 'Mum....Help'
When I demanded an explanation for how a drawer of clothes got emptied on her floor, Ella just looked up and me with a blank look on her face and said 'Messy'. Yeah, good one!
Faith knocked out after 2 busy afternoons of kindy play

Last night we had the Takapuna Youth over to our place for pizza, chips and treats. We used to have about 18/20 of them at a time over to our flat, so it seemed so nice and spacious this time with the deck and bigger lounge. Was really fun to see them all. This is Faith and Ella sitting with Dallan, one of their besties.

We spent the afternoon at Crystal Mountain which is just down the road from our house, literally 2 minutes away. Over-priced for that they have, but we did do a couple of cool things.
This is what Faith thought about the roller coaster, a big thumbs up. Mum couldn't go on it cause she's pregnant, and Ella was about 2 cm too short :(
Patting the rabbits in the barn. Faith was quite good about it but wouldn't do it without Dad
This is Ella being happy at a very grumpy moment and braving a 'finger pat'
Waiting for the 'go slow' train around the park.
Faith enjoyed the vertical bungy thank goodness. I'd previously waited in the line for about 20 minutes with Ella only to have her completely melt down and go psycho when I put her on.

My big baby's 1st day at Kindy

Today, March 13th was Faithy Ks first day at kindy, Summerland Kindy to be precise. I feel like she's all grown up now that the kindy phase has started. She's been excited about it for a week or so, however this morning she got a little nervous and started saying I had to stay for the whole time with her.  I had lots of other things planned for the 2.5 hours she'd be there (put Ella to sleep and have a rest myself), so staying was out of the question.

We had our lovely visiting teachers over this morning and they told us where to buy Faith a booster seat so we did that on the way to Kindy. Ella nearly fell asleep on that drive so I had to pull out every trick in the book to make sure she made it home for a good sleep in her bed rather than a crappy one in the car. Once we got there, we signed in, found a cubby space for her bag and that was pretty much it. Ella and I said a quick hello to the rabbit (Marmite), then I gave Faith a kiss and said 'I'll be back at mat time'. She ran off and we gapped it.

My plan worked a treat. Ella straight into bed, a sandwich in peace and then a lie down. I even had to wake Ella up to get back to Faith on time. She was happy to see us but had really enjoyed herself and wants to go again tomorrow. So far so good

Just before Mummy left, having fun on the playground.

Mummy's so proud of you honey. You let me leave you, and you had a great time meeting new people and doing new things. I love you

(and you just said over my shoulder 'I was good and stayed good at that Kindy aye Mum'....'yes you did my love!' Now go to bed!!!!!!!!!!!)
