December - Hakihea

December, the month that flies by with excitement for so many reasons....school finishing, summer holidays beginning, Dad's birthday, and Christmas!

Photo evidence that my kids are mad. After getting this out for 2 weeks of school lunches, this is what was left. What the heck!?!?!

The day Dad got called as the Bishop of Swanson Ward. Not the best photo, but that's us on that day!

At the Forest Hill Ward Camp in Tuhikaramea

Of course this big kid doesn't do things by halves and injured himself quite nicely on the waterslide. Thankfully he's tough and can handle it no worries

Of course little miss socialite had new mates for the weekend

The poor case of tumbling hard on the gravel while playing some kind of tiggy game

This classic Grandie moment needed to be documented. Always uses the phone on speaker!

Indie's birthday at the park

My shopping mate/animal during the last week of school when 3 out of the 4 kids had a day of school

A pick up dinner for the Elders. I hope they were happy with it cause I was!

Writing cards for their teachers...and I do not miss having those lunchboxes torment my life. One of the many bonuses of summer holidays

The last day of school and everyone had mufti day. This little reindeer's class decided to do a Christmas theme

Faithy's last day as a student at Summerland. So exciting and so sad
I love that Julie's just next door and I got to walk her in. This year she'll be at school so we'll see her even more...I might even have a new buddy if I have to do duty!

The Intermediate Hip Hop Crew

The audience

With their tutor, Angelo

1st night of the holidays and they camped in the lounge. It always seems like a good idea at the time but the regrets are real when they sloth around and won't tidy up in the morning

I'd like to say he does this every day but it was a first and last unfortunately

Kids act soooo excited for kinders but here's proof they're either just into the toy or the surprise of opening it....feral Dallin just ran off from this one

I think it's fair to say Seth was pretty keen on the chocolate when he opened his one though

The beauty I occasionally wake up to. Probably not as often as I'd like to be honest

Library hangs begin...

And thank you to whoever created the 'dare to explore' programme run through the library

This is what I have to resort to around here....Experience has taught me that if I don't do this, they'll be half gone before I wake up in the morning

I somehow got tickets to the studio audience of the programme 'Have you been paying attention?' Such a fun, different night out with my handsome man

2 bedrooms is enough for us!

A rare moment of the girls making up some kind of game....soooo rare!

Smiggle is ridiculously good at sucking kids in to it's colourful, fenagerie world. I find the shop quite overwhelming with all the choices in there but these guys, especially Seth at the moment could stay there for hours I reckon

My sunny man finally wore me down and he got the stadium he's been wanting. And now that I think about it, he used it that afternoon and the next day and hasn't touched it since!

A random Korean church thing at the library

At the Waterview Park and this critter randomly walks back from playing with this brand new nail polish kit. I made her leave it cause some poor child had obviously put it there but my goodness that would've kept her busy for hours. Reminds me of nail infections of yesteryear aye Britt...if you're reading this

Some of the kids crew at our family lunch with the Fetuani's.
Some super swift Cookie Ninja's dropped these off a couple of weeks ago. Thankfully I was able to be sneaky and didn't have to share many with the kids

Yes we wear uniforms during the holidays

Delicious treats from our Stone Carollers who sang so beautifully to us just before Christmas

Thankfully we've got pretty much no presents to wrap, just 4 that I got for secret santa and even then I'm thankful I don't have to do it cause I've got this little potterer

Happy 39th Birthday big man. Working a long day wasn't ideal but we got to have a yummy dinner and fruit dessert together and our family date day is coming up

Oh gosh, this was a special moment. Little Carter...aka Cardi Beezy

Of course she snapped him up and between Carter and Ryder, her arms were full from the moment they arrived to the moment they left

Yes, that's a caravan on our driveway!

Somehow these 2 set up camp in the garage without me knowing. Thankfully I heard about it though cause the petrol fumes in there from the lawnmower, gas cans, weed eater could have been fatal I reckon!

4 make up sets around on Christmas day made for lots of scenes like this, and not exclusively with the girls either

Good one Dads

My mate sleeps right through 3 hours on Christmas afternoon....I would've joined him if I could

The first of many set ups at Mairangi Bay. We've doe 3 days in the last week so I think we're all a bit over it, but I'm sure it won't be too long before we're back

Finally the long awaited remedy to nail biting has arrived

6 days in and the results so far are promising thank goodness

The time capsule/box I made 20 years ago finally reached maturity!

Such a momentous day to go back into time to when I made something that I fully intended to open with my husband and children around. I made it over half my life ago and the best part was that I had written to my future husband and children so I got to read them the letter...it even finished with something cheesy like 'I love you all so much and I don't even know you yet!'
