Summerland Kindy and Stars Kindy

On Monday morning last week, Faith went on a trip to the museum. As soon as she woke up she ran down the hallway saying 'it's my trip today!!!'.

She was paired up with a little girl called Katie and her Mum.

When she got back I asked her to tell me what she learnt and all I kept hearing about was the bus ride......Eventually she said she liked the volcano.

I'm so super grateful that the girls like going to their kindys and they have wonderful teachers that care for them. Faith loves Kathryn, and Ella loves Zoe. They've both got boyfriends too!!!! Faith's boyf is called Tavoka (he's south african I think) and Ella's is Isaac or Joshua (apparently she's quite popular with the boys...oh no!)

Ella's off on a trip to the farm today. Hopefully she'll be able to tell me about the animals she sees and not just the bus!

I wonder if she went crazy with the animals on her farm trip like she did with Ninja and the party ponies!

I want to be regular!!

and I'm not talking regular with number 2s. I'm talking about regular with 'blogging'. Oh wait, that kinda does sound like poo!!!

I've decided that I'm going to try and put up a new blog post every monday. Probably nothing much exciting, but just 'the things that we do' as Faith likes to say. That might not sound too taxing, but right now Faith's at kindy, Seth's asleep and Ella's screaming while she tries to put on her jacket. It's inside out and upside down so she's not winning with that. I just tried to help her and she said 'get out, I'll put you in your room!'

So here's what we've been up to this last week.
Seth fast asleep in his bassinet
This was the 2nd week in a row that Seth wore a collared shirt to church. He looks pretty chuffed with himself. By the time we got home the whole top of his shirt and onesy were soaking. Time for bibs!
This was Seth on saturday night when Dad took Faith and Ella out to the Christy's farm with help with the Hangi. I was on the computer so he was in the lounge by himself....boring obviously
Joe was just saying a few days ago that he doesn't have photos of him and Seth asleep like he has with the girls (because they were needy as!!!!). Seth's so good that he doesn't need to be cuddled all the time, he actually knows how to have a rest in his bed. But this is one that I managed to get yesterday evening. I took the girls into the room to dress up for a dance show and when we came back the boys were fast asleep.
Faith missed Kindy last Tuesday so we could go to Seth's hearing test at Greenlane. Thankfully everything turned out to be ok (which we'd realised cause he's getting a bit sensitive to noises around the house). Afterwards Faith convinced me to take her to the mall and have a muffin at a cafe....plus a little play on every kids 'put the money in' thing we saw.

Trip to Crystal Mountain

After Faith's afternoons at kindy this week she's been getting really tired. On her second day I let her watch Ice Age 2 knowing that she would fall asleep. Sure enough after about 10 minutes she snuggled in next to me on the couch so I made a little bed for her and went to the kitchen to bake some choc chippies. I had assumed that Ella would pull on my apron strings the whole time, but she actually entertained herself for the whole time with her 'baby'.

She toddled off to her room and found her pony baby and then perched herself on the chair next to me to wrap it and give it cuddles.
Ella went to get a nappy for bubba and struggled around with it before yelling out 'Mum....Help'
When I demanded an explanation for how a drawer of clothes got emptied on her floor, Ella just looked up and me with a blank look on her face and said 'Messy'. Yeah, good one!
Faith knocked out after 2 busy afternoons of kindy play

Last night we had the Takapuna Youth over to our place for pizza, chips and treats. We used to have about 18/20 of them at a time over to our flat, so it seemed so nice and spacious this time with the deck and bigger lounge. Was really fun to see them all. This is Faith and Ella sitting with Dallan, one of their besties.

We spent the afternoon at Crystal Mountain which is just down the road from our house, literally 2 minutes away. Over-priced for that they have, but we did do a couple of cool things.
This is what Faith thought about the roller coaster, a big thumbs up. Mum couldn't go on it cause she's pregnant, and Ella was about 2 cm too short :(
Patting the rabbits in the barn. Faith was quite good about it but wouldn't do it without Dad
This is Ella being happy at a very grumpy moment and braving a 'finger pat'
Waiting for the 'go slow' train around the park.
Faith enjoyed the vertical bungy thank goodness. I'd previously waited in the line for about 20 minutes with Ella only to have her completely melt down and go psycho when I put her on.

My big baby's 1st day at Kindy

Today, March 13th was Faithy Ks first day at kindy, Summerland Kindy to be precise. I feel like she's all grown up now that the kindy phase has started. She's been excited about it for a week or so, however this morning she got a little nervous and started saying I had to stay for the whole time with her.  I had lots of other things planned for the 2.5 hours she'd be there (put Ella to sleep and have a rest myself), so staying was out of the question.

We had our lovely visiting teachers over this morning and they told us where to buy Faith a booster seat so we did that on the way to Kindy. Ella nearly fell asleep on that drive so I had to pull out every trick in the book to make sure she made it home for a good sleep in her bed rather than a crappy one in the car. Once we got there, we signed in, found a cubby space for her bag and that was pretty much it. Ella and I said a quick hello to the rabbit (Marmite), then I gave Faith a kiss and said 'I'll be back at mat time'. She ran off and we gapped it.

My plan worked a treat. Ella straight into bed, a sandwich in peace and then a lie down. I even had to wake Ella up to get back to Faith on time. She was happy to see us but had really enjoyed herself and wants to go again tomorrow. So far so good

Ella showing the glasses she got yesterday (in knickers...day 2)

Faith having her morning tea of grainwaves and pear before leaving to go to Kindy, with a special new updo for the occasion!

Just before Mummy left, having fun on the playground.

Mummy's so proud of you honey. You let me leave you, and you had a great time meeting new people and doing new things. I love you

(and you just said over my shoulder 'I was good and stayed good at that Kindy aye Mum'....'yes you did my love!' Now go to bed!!!!!!!!!!!)

FHE with Playdough

For Family Home Evening tonight (just getting in before the week ends), we played a game about how choosing the right makes us happy and making bad choices makes us sad. After that we played with playdough and had mentos lollies for our treat.

 Ella's attempt at a smile
Faith and Mums Dog  and 2 butterflies
Ella drawing on unused Christmas cards, which is her favourite thing to do at the moment. Quite cute to watch her doing 'peetchers'...except tonight when I found she's drawn on the wall by the table.
Between drawing on the wall and her body, she does get quite a lot on the paper too.
And she appears to favour her left hand. Not sure if I should train her to use right?

K, this is short as cause my computer is working slower than you could ever imagine. I think it's overloaded with too many home movies. Will have to get another hardrive or something before I attempt this again :)
