I struck gold!

I just found something in the deep dark abyss (garage) that has made me so happy!!!!!

Since having the my biddy babies and going through pregnancy, birth etc. 4 times now, I've wondered a lot of things that will always stay as wonderings because the person I need to ask is Mum, and she's not here :(:(:(:(:

But just now I found something that answers a couple of questions I had thought would never be answered. Small stuff but very cool for me.

Was I born on my due date? Early? Late? Were you induced with me? Was I healthy when I was born?

Asked and answered!

I love imagining being in the hospital with Mum for those few days, having her all to myself, thinking that she was probably so excited to have a new little, healthy baby, and little did I know it at the time, but I'd be so excited to have her as my Mum forever more.

Pretty big stuff for someone who hasn't seen their Mum for almost 8 years, has gotten married and had 4 children in that time and would love to have a conversation with her more than pretty much anything else.....oh, that and watch her with my babies. To be honest, that's gotten me down lately, that I'll never know what it's like to have my Mum come over and see my children run up to her, see her bend down and scoop them up, watch their netball, see them talk in the primary presentation....the list goes on. All the little things........and big things too!

Oh man I gotta stop thinking about it, cause I'm supposed to be happy at the moment aye!

FHE - Prayer Burgers

Some of our prayers lately have been a bit repetitive....sad but true. By the time bed time rolls around, the girls are tired and grumpy and pretty much just can't be bothered putting in effort to say prayers. They either do it begrudgingly or just say 'you do it Mum'.

For a few days I've been excited about having a lesson on prayers. Hopefully our content and sincerity will be on the improve now.

We started off talking about how when I want to talk to Grandie (my Dad) I call him on the phone. They see me do that pretty much every day so they knew exactly what I was talking about. And then when we want to talk to Heavenly Father, we say a prayer.

We can say them by our bed at night time, or in our mind at kindy, or school. Or we can even plead and cry out to him in emergencies like if we have a car accident.

However we pray to him, he will hear our words and thoughts.

The girls were really interested to hear that sometimes Daddy Joe prays while he's at work that his job will go well and they'll get everything finished properly.

I really hope they've learnt that they can pray anytime and anywhere if they feel like talking to their Father in Heaven.

Here's the activity sheets we did...

Colouring in is always a winner with the girls. I was going to make this 'prayer by numbers', but I pretty much knew the girls wouldn't be able to wait to colour in one piece of the picture each day. Maybe one day!

I was trying to think of a way of talking about the different parts of a prayer that would be memorable for the kids. Cause we all know what a burger is I thought this might work....and it did cause they thought my prayer burger was pretty funny so they really listened to what I was saying.

Bottom Bun - Dear Heavenly Father
Meat - Things we're thankful for, express gratitude
Salad - Express concerns and desires
Top Bun - In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen

Stuff Lately x15

Biggest Cuzzies going on a movie date

Movie date for Mum, Faith and Dallin

How I feel most days!!!! (not about call parents though, I like that one)

Daddy Joe with the helper with the most stickability (Ella!). Faith's a 1 minute wonder most of the time!

Playing around while I chose Faith's birthday bike. He ended up being told to get off it by one of the workers cause we weren't buying it :(

My BIG kindy girl on her first day.....soooo bittersweet for me

Love these  as kindy bags and love that I have two (thanks Aunty Beezy). With Dallin going as well I felt like I packed half the house that morning...needn't have bothered though cause she came home wearing the PJs she went in!

And she had a wonderful day. Apparently when they put her in the cot for her first sleep she just started laughing at them....that's my girl...full of smiles :) :) :)

Totally out of the blue, and pretty exciting after I got a speeding ticket last week and we had a window repair thrown in for good measure. This made up for both of those with a little to spare

The quiz night we did at Lincoln Ward was a huge success, despite being down to the wire for actually having it ready (we were still finishing the questions about 15 minutes after the activity started)

We're going to host a Ward Quiz night for Swanson sometime in November and just re-use what we did for this one. I'd actually like to be part of the quiz myself cause I love the challenge of answering trivia, but not this time. Maybe next year another couple can take it over

Bro Reneti has a MEAN karaoke set up....Daddy Joe did a bit of Red Hot Chilli Peppers
And to finish up, my little Seffy man was sick on Sunday....the best possible kind of sick as well.....snuggly and tired. No crying, no vomitting or upset tummy, just mummy cuddles and big sleeps all day long. Wouldn't ever wish for him to be sick, but my goodness I made the most of him lying on me from the moment he woke up until about 5pm when he started to chirp up.
