Bike + Sunday = Sore Face

Sundays in our house are different to other days. We spend the morning getting ready for church, the middle of the day at church and the afternoon chillin out/sleeping/resting in the lounge before having a nice family dinner in the evening.

For Faith's whole life there's been a rule in our house, only church movies on a sunday. She used to try and put other ones on week after week and get upset and sound surprised when we insisted she couldn't. This year, she's been really good about it and chooses from our church movies or naps in the lounge.

Yesterday as Daddy Joe and I were talking in the lounge, she and Benny went outside. I thought they were wandering around on the driveway but I should have known better. After a while of them being out there, we heard a massive scream and knew she'd been hurt in some way.

It turns out she'd been playing on her bike the whole time and had somehow skidded and fallen off. Once we realised she wasn't seriously hurt, Daddy Joe lost all sympathy for her and walked off with the bike.

I carried her inside crying and talked to her about how we should keep the sabbath day holy. It was a good chance to tell her and Ben about how Uncle Aaron had also learnt that lesson many years before when he was on his way to go surfing on a sunday and crashed the car.

I think the lesson has been learnt. Will see what happens next sunday.
She hasn't seen her nose yet. Everytime I ask if she wants so see her 'sconned' nose she says no. She had a rudolph nose a couple of years ago for Christmas from a carpet burn when she fell off our bed. I hope she's not going to make a habit of this!
The bike's final resting place. Daddy Joe said she's not allowed to have it down for 3 days.
Faith doesn't care though. I don't think she even wants it back
