Last few weeks of Summerland for 2013

Here's a few pics from the last few weeks of school for Faithy as a Year 0

The word cards that the new entrants work through. Ours are so tatty because they get carried around the house by everyone

The Summerland Athletics Day was held at the Trust Stadium and I happened to be working, and in charge of the 5 year old girls.....how convenient!!! I got to be there with Faith for the whole day and they brought all the staff Subway for lunch!

Dad got to bring along Seth and Ella for a while which was cool for all of us

Because she only joined this pod for the last half a term, we didn't bother buying the Anawhata Blue t-shirt (I just got this navy blue one the day before Athletics so she could be identified as Anawhata, but next year she'll be in Muriwai pod so she'll have a nice dark purple t-shirt.)

She came 3rd in the 5 year old girls vortex throw (maybe about 60 children)

Numbers up to 50, practice with Mum at home

The prizegiving was held at St Dominics Girls College on Thursday night last week. Faith wasn't one of the 5 people from her class getting an award, but she really wanted to go and watch. I'm glad we did cause she's keen to try and get one next year and it was good to see all the children get recognized for their achievement and effort.

She finally got her hot choccie from the coffee pod (the school coffee shop open on mon, wed, fridays mornings). She used to ask every time I dropped her off if she could have one and eventually I thought she'd forgotten about them (because it was always 'no'). I had said she could have one per year though so when she brought it up last week, we did it. A well spent $3.50 to see that smile on her face

Cause she's only been in her new class a few weeks and she got a mini-report from her last teacher, she didn't get a new report, but this is her letter with the news of her new teacher......Mr Smart (and he's gonna make her super Smart!)

At the last minute I decided that I'd make a treat for all the kids in her class, which meant me sending her to school, rushing to the supermarket (with Daddy Joe in tow) and the shooting home to make them. She was excited that I was going to bring up something for her to hand out to everyone so I couldn't let her down. Her Dad wasn't much of a help, hassling me the whole time that other Mums don't care about doing things like this and we should have just brought a bag of lollipops for the kids instead....christmas grinch alert!

We love Summerland if you couldn't tell! We're going to enjoy our summer holidays, but we'll be excited to go back on Jan 30th 2014!
